Paul used his charm and marketing skills to fulfill a dream and become a local shopkeeper. Flags Over Winnipesaukee, their first creation, was unfurled on Flag Day 2007 and took off with  flying colors.  Penny continued running Logos Unlimited, her 28 year business, providing  Promotional Products to major corporations across America. 

Wolfeboro NH is a haven where people can dock their boat or park their car or motorcycle and stroll the downtown shops. Visitors enjoy an experience far away from outlets, shopping malls and chain stores. When the couple learned that the local candy shop across the way was closing due to retirement it didn't take long to jump all over it.  A candy store was an essential part of the Wolfeboro experience and Penny's name loaned itself beautifully to this new endeavor. 

On March 1, 2008, Penny Candy Shop in Durgin Stables was born.  The whimsical furniture and lollipop garden that lines the walls welcomes you to a happy place.  Candy music fills the air and the smell of chocolate draws you in.  Our popular Antique gumball machine is a big hit with the kids. Put a penny in and often get two gumballs!  Our shopkeeper hands out pennies and gumball machine tattoos to delighted children.   

We are proud to offer products that are made in New England.  Our colorful displays are filled with a mix of homemade Fudge, Jams & Jellies, Specialty Treats, Nuts,  NH  Maple Candy and Jelly Belly®.  The jars of candy-by-the-pound are very popular as are the colorful candies that delight our youngest customers.  We are most proud of being the Lakes Region's source for Van Otis Chocolates, winners of NH Magazine's Best Chocolate Award 8 years in a row. Van Otis is famous for their Swiss Fudge, a mouth-watering blend of velvety chocolate  that really hits the spot. Mmmmmmmmm.
